Nametag Overload
Version: 1.1.3
by: Viper [More]
Nametag Overload changes the nametags/healthbars to give you more information, look better and allow for greater customisation.
Note that the add-on respects the nametag settings you've choosen in Interface Options for the game.

The many changes:
  • Entirely new graphics for the healthbar.
  • Option to add percent (25%, 50% and 75%) dividers within the healthbar.
  • Increased the size slightly for the healthbar and text.
  • Option to show text inside the bar. You can create your own string by using identifiers that will get replaced with the correct values. Read the in-game help on how to use this (click the question mark button next to the close button of the options window).
  • Option to show the health percentage out to the right with different options to control it.
  • Option to highlight your selected target.
  • Smoother colour transition in the healthbar.
  • Option to not show the healthbar for friendly NPC’s unless they’re targeted.
  • Option to not show the name for friendly NPC’s unless they’re targeted.
  • Option to adjust the scale of the name text.
  • Option to set the draw distance for nametags.
  • Option to only show healthbars for friendlies below 100% health, otherwise they are hidden.
  • Reduces the alpha of the bar for dead entities.
  • Grays out the text of dead entities.
  • Option to remove the nametag of dead entities.
  • Always puts your active target on top of the nametags.
  • Option to show states, castbar and resources for all entities, not only your target.
  • States graphics made clearer.
  • The shield/barrier portion of the bar is now light blue/cyan instead of yellow (making it stand out more) and won't fill up the healthbar when partially off-screen to the right.
  • States can now be shown even if you don't have weapon resource indicators enabled.
  • Option to put enemy nametags back into view if they would otherwise be off-screen. Can be shown at a specific (freely movable) anchor or at your mouse cursor.
  • Other minor options are available as well, just explore the options window.
  • Performance at default settings (on my system) is the same as the standard Funcom nametags.
Version 1.1.3
  • Fixed "Only show healthbars of friendlies with less than 100% health" so it works properly.

Version 1.1.2
  • Fixed hiding friendly NPC names also hiding player names.
  • Fixed positioning issue with the barrier bar within the healthbar when targeting something with a barrier on it.

Version 1.1.1
  • Fixed pet/NPC settings not working properly in some cases.
  • Added option to have health values separated by , each 3 digits.

Version 1.1.0
  • Removed another graphical layer from the healthbar, so that's 4 less layers compared to the standard healthbars.
  • Optimised some processing, thus reducing CPU load.
  • Replaces the "ă" character with "â" until I can get around to putting the correct character into the font.
  • Icons next to the name should align much better now.
  • Fixed some colour issues with the state graphics.
  • Fixed NPC name/healthbar display options to work correctly at all times.
  • The always show selected targets on top function has been improved.
  • Added pet name/healthbar display options.
  • Added the option to disable the always show selected targets on top.
  • Added ability to only show healthbar text for your selected targets.
  • States, resoruces and castbar now have an Y offset option.
  • Added two new identifiers for the healthbar text string: $barrier and $[barrier] - read the help in-game on how to use.
  • Added a barrier container text string which can be used with the $[barrier] identifier in the healthbar text string and only shows when a barrier is active.
  • The anchor now gets its position saved.
  • Fixed issue that could happen when opening options/help window for the first time.
  • Updated wording of options regarding placing enemy nametags back into view when off-screen.
  • Updated a few pieces regarding icon handling.
  • Stuff I've forgot...

Version 1.0.1
  • Fixed "Apply" button not saving changes.

Version 1.0.0
  • Initial release.

I don't know what I'd do without your addons, Viper. You make TSW a better place!

I love this addon. Awesome!

The anchor does not do anything for me, if i move the anchor to a specific location and set it up that the anchor (instead of mouse cursor) is used, the offensive target is always displayed at bottom middle. MAYBE this is caused by customUI mod (from http://uimod.eu/) ?

I would love to see the option "show all player health bars of your team/raid" and "show the name of the action being casted" (the castbar of the offensive target does not make sense without knowing what is being casted)

Thanks for yet another useful mod Viper.

Is there a way to hide the names of non-targeted hostiles/players but still show their health bars?

I noticed that if I have "show vicinity xxx nametags" turned off then barriers (the color bar, not the [$barrier] text) are only displayed on friendly targets if the barrier was placed while I have them targeted and I don't change targets. For example, if I were to cast a barrier on my tank, switch to a different player, and then back to the tank their bar would not have a blue barrier section.

I also noticed that "only show healthbars of friendlies with less than 100%" stops working if someone's health bar shows up at some point because you've targeted them or they've been damaged, even if they are not currently targeted and at full health. In other words, if their health bar shows up it won't disappear again.

I'll look into making this an option.

Hmmm, I just tested it and didn't have any issues. I turned off vicinity nametags, cast a barrier on an NPC then deselected and reselected the NPC and the barrier showed up fine.
I did however fix an issue where this would align the barrier bar incorrectly within the healthbar.

Ok, I'll have a look at that.

I'm not sure what you're looking for with the first suggestion. Are you asking for a sort of filter option, so to speak, that will only show group/raid healthbars?
In that case you can already do that with the game's interface options by only showing friendly healthbars.

I will look into the second suggestion at some point - it's not high on the priority list right now.

Multiple Healthbars

Hey!

Great job for this one!

I'm probably a real noob but english is not my principal language so.... sorry

I can't figure how to show the healthbars of all the ennemies I'm attacking.
I'm a chaos tank and it's.... disturbing x) as it was the main thing that made me download this add-on (and the fact I already had the topbar and ressource HUD )

But... even without it, still good to know exactly and easily where I am with the boss life during instance

You need to go into the game's normal interface settings, there's one dealing with nametags. You have to enable "show vicinity nametags" (or something to that effect) and set the rest of the settings in there according to what you want.
My add-on works off of those settings, so they're still important.
